1. The hue of purple
You now know the iPhone’s secret. That is the only difference between it and any other iPhone 12 handset. But, guess what? That alone is enough to get people’s attention.
Apple is a colour genius who understands what works and what doesn’t.
The iPhone 11 was available in purple, so this must be the same, right?
No, it does not. Apple alters its colours in a subtle manner. It does this every time a new model is released. The colours of gold, silver, and even PRODUCT(RED) change on an annual basis. A keen technique for connoisseurs to determine who has this season’s model.
As a result, the new purple is distinct from the iPhone 11. Still a lighter shade of purple than you may expect, but punchier and more striking than the 11.
It’s like Apple said, “Do you remember last year’s purple?” Let’s try something a little more, well, purple.
2. It is quite appealing to the eye.

That’s an excellent point. Unlike the iPhone 11, which has an LCD screen with 326 pixels per inch, this one sports an OLED screen with a greater resolution. The iPhone 12 small, in fact, features the highest-resolution iPhone display ever. It’s the same as the ones Apple introduced last fall, but it looks even better.
6. Apple’s attention to detail
Two last characteristics of the new purple iPhone stand out. First and foremost, the Apple logo is color-matched. It’s not silver; it’s purple, and it’s stunning.
The second connector is for the Lightning cable. If you tilt the phone just right and look inside, you’ll notice that the casing on the inside is completely color-matched to the metal on the outside. From the iPhone XR forward, Apple has made this a signature feature, and it’s a pleasant touch.
It’s savvy to release a new hue six months after the iPhone 12. It provides individuals who want to buy a new iPhone immediately, rather than waiting for the new models to arrive this fall, more options.
But it’s just an ordinary iPhone 12, with the only difference being the colour.
One more thing, however, whether or not this is a deal-breaker is up to you: this is the only iPhone that does not require an update to iOS 14.5. It is already installed.
What to Think About Before Buying an iPhone 13 vs. a iPhone 12 purple
We’ve passed the likely midway point between the iPhone 12 and 13, and Apple has released a beautiful new purple colour.
This spring, Apple introduced a new hue for the iPhone 12 purple and 12 Mini purple. It’s already available for purchase, but I got my hands on one of the new phones ahead of time. And I can confirm that it is purple. However, the new hue arrives six months after Apple released the iPhone 12 series and less than six months before the speculated iPhone 13. So, should you get one now or wait? I’ll explain later.
Purple is the sixth colour option for the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini, which are also available in black, white, blue, green, Product Red, and now purple. Apple’s rainbow emblem, which the corporation used from the late 1970s through the 1990s and included purple, had six hues. The new purple hue isn’t available on the iPhone 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max, which is understandable given that the Pro models typically come in graphite, silver, or gold finishes.

My first thought upon seeing the phone in person? That is, indeed, purple. The purple colour appeared to be a deep rich tone, similar to Prince purple, in the event promotion video. Or the purple Joker from Batman. However, this is a very pale purple. It’s almost like Easter purple.
Last year, there was a purple iPhone 11, but it was more of a light lavender tint. The purple on the iPhone 12 is richer, but it exudes the same cheerful energy.
The new purple hue of the iPhone 12 is pastel beauty. The iPhone 12’s smooth aluminum edges are likewise purple and match the rear. It’s really eye-catching in person. However, aside from the new colour, everything else about the phone remains the same. It features the same 5G support. Apple’s ceramic shield protects the OLED screen. The body is dust and water-resistant, with an IP68 rating. It is compatible with MagSafe wireless charging and accessories. It has the same A14 Bionic chipset, iOS 14, and even has the same cameras.
And this begs the question: Should you buy it? We’ve reached the strange halfway point in the regular iPhone refresh cycle. And it’s wise for Apple to introduce a new color to help boost interest in the iPhone 12.
In most circumstances, if you’re due for an upgrade and want to acquire an iPhone, it’s a waste of time to wait. Get the iPhone 12 and rest easy knowing that Apple will provide OS and security updates to its phones for four or even five years after they are released.
If you know you’ll want the latest and greatest and you have six months to wait, you’ve probably already made your selection. And what are you waiting for if you adore all things purple? But, for a moment, let’s be honest. No matter what phone you purchase or what color it is, most people will probably put this purple beauty in a case.
